I am currently in grade 12, researching university options, and I am wondering if anyone knows of any Canadian (or international) scholarships that are attainable for someone with academic CS-related interests and activities, rather that the usual volunteering, school involvement, etc.
Maybe some people here are currently studying undergrad computer science, science, math or engineering and won scholarships that were focused in their area.
I know universities offer some, but are there any valuable ones that are open to everyone? |

Here's University of Toronto's CS Scholarships. Found 'em by doing "Computer Science Scholarships" in the University's site search. You should be able to find similar pages for your universities of choice. |

Once you get to grad school theres NSERC and OGS. I think NSERC might even be available for undergrad students in later years. Theyre based mostly on academic contributions such as journal and conference publications though.
Like Pockets suggests though, one of the best places to look for scholarships is through the Universities themselves. You might even have luck searching directly from the computer science department websites at the schools as well. They will likely have the important dates and relevant scholarships for comp sci. You could also try to contact someone from the comp sci departments at the schools you are interested in and ask them. For instance at Guelph, the undergrad and graduate secretaries send out notices to the current students regarding funding opportunities so I imagine it is similar at other universities as well. |
