Define "fail".

Some students doing just fine leave because they have found something else they prefer to do.

I don't think anyone has accurate statistics, because students arrive, leave, and change status, and because UW's student information systems aren't set up to do this kind of tracking.

The degree completion rate listed here:

http://www.analysis.uwaterloo.ca/docs/pi/kpi2006.php

suggests that 78.4% of students entering UW CS in 1997 got a degree from UW (not necessarily CS) by 2004. But those were dot-com years, and the commitment of students to CS may have been shallower. (The average for the entire Ontario system was 65.6% in CS.)

Other documents with similar URLs show a similar Master's completion rate for the whole institution. There is no breakdown by discipline. --PR

Oh alright thank you Razz. "Fail" meant just that, not earning a credit for a course or however it works in university after completing it @.@.
