I'm surprised that nobody has said this yet, it goes to show how inactive these forums are:
Congratulations go to Hanson Wang, who placed 19th in the IOI and won a gold medal for Canada. Canada has won very few gold medals in the past, and Hanson's achievement is truly impressive considering that he has only two years of experience.
Congratulations go also to Robin Cheng, Aaron Voelker, and Tom Szymanski, the other three members of Canada's IOI 2008 team. Robin and Aaron earned bronze medals, placing 79th and 124th, respectively.
Overall, it was a good Olympiad for Canada. |

Given that we're mostly programmers who don't do a lot of sports... and that most of our members ignore compsci.ca all summer, it's not a huge surprise that nothing got posted.
If you interested in things that happen during the summer your best bet is almost always the IRC channel. |
