It seems this time of year comes ever so swiftly. For me, I have less than 2 weeks left here in Sault Ste. Marie. Then Its time to pack up my life and move it to a city over 800km away (by car). I am going to miss my friends here at home, and almost dont want to go back to school. However, classes will start, I will get into a routine, my memories of the summer will dim slightly, and I will once again feel comfortable with my surroundings. Its a pattern Ive noticed these past couple years.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm SUPER jacked to be living in a house with some of the funnest people i know. I'm sure we're going to have some really awesome times as well, but its just not the same kind of camaraderie as home.
I guess this is a struggle most people who go away for school (or work, or what have you) face. (unless they go where all their friends are of course).
So i want to know, how many other people might be having a harder time than usual in dealing with moving to another city for school, work, whatever your situation may be? |

I am heading hack to thunder bay tomorrow by car. I will probly be going the excat opsit path you will be + a few 100km further.
When i first went to Lakehead i did not know any one going there and the peoleop i was going to be with in my aprement where selected randomly by the school. Not even by deperment, my roommates where in civil enginering, outdoor rec and nursing. Not even close to being in the same faculty.
It can be inteimtating at first but you noraml make firends fast if you are living in a residence. If your roommates are good peoleop then it probly will work out well, and if they are not it can be enterainting in other ways :p
I think one problem peoleop have when planing to have there current firends as roommates is that they may be great firends but horiable to live with. It can be easier to be firends with some one when you only see them a few hours a day.
Also if you are the type to get home sick easly it probly is not a great idea to be going 1,473 km away for school (distance from waterloo to lakehead). |

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm only coming from Toronto, so it's not really the same.
I'm pretty nervous because I won't really know anyone, but I can't wait to get there. Orientation Week should be awesome! |

I'm going to Waterloo as well... but my parents are all the way in Silicon Valley. So I'm pretty much on my own. None of my close friends are going to Waterloo either, and my lady friend's in McMaster. In terms of people, I'm a little nervous. But I, too, am confident it will be fine. |

We should all meet up during Orientation week, so we all know people. |
