Hello! I'm a cs student at waterloo, and wishing to get into cs grad school in canada, preferably either at waterloo of UofT. I was wondering what kind of marks you need to have in order to gain admission. My mark is around mid-70's right now, and I have done upto 2B at waterloo. My mark is kinda low it seems to get into grad school, how much of mark should I pull up? I think I can get 80 term avgs for future terms, but it would be hard for cav to go up to 80's because my avg is mid-70's and I have already done 4 terms at waterloo.

Would other stuff, like co-op work experience may be considered for admission? How could I find an undergrad research position? URA at waterloo requires at least 80 cav, so I'm no eligible for it.

Thanks!

Each school is a little different in terms of marks, I imagine waterloo and toronto are at the higher end of the marks but some schools have easier requirements. For instance Guelph is 75% avg (i think its only in your last two years of class). Most of the schools post their grad admission requirements somewhere on their sites (although sometimes they are tricky to find). It it also important to try to connect with a prof who you would like to research with. Many people I have met in grad school so far have said that as soon as they found a prof who agreed to work with them, they were more or less in. So make sure you can get some good references from existing profs.

I don't know much about the undergrad research positions, especially at waterloo but I know there are quite a few ppl on here who probably do and will likely answer soon.
