You might have more luck if you search for master of engineering for software engineering rather than a master of science. However relating to your question, a quick google search found this page at the University of Calgary: http://www.ucalgary.ca/pubs/calendar/2007/what/fac/GS/CPSC.htm . About half-way down the page they list a course based program for what you are looking for.

P.S didn't you already start a similar thread asking about this already?

My last thread was abt the MS in SE at Calgary.........But UofC no more offers course based courses. Hence i created this thread..

May i know the difference between an MS. Software engineering and MEng Software Engineering.....

also the universities offering Meng. Software Engineering. I prefer SE coz i'm less efficient in autometa n other such things.........I'm good at programming when the concept is given...for this reason i choolse SE.....

Give me some suggestions for selecting the course too........

thanks in advance

Well one big difference between Meng and MSc is in the MSc there would likely be some emphasis on the scientific method. The scientist would ask questions like "why" does something work like it does, then create some hypotheses trying to answer this using experiments. The engineer would be more concerned with the implementation of a solution to a practical problem.

In terms of selecting the courses, if you end up having an advisor for a course based Meng degree, they may have some suggestions for you and there may be certain required courses for the program depending on the university. To see the courses just google 'meng courses'. For example University of Waterloo has an Meng in software engineering: http://www.ece.uwaterloo.ca/Graduate/MEng/ProgramInfo/ heres the listing of courses: http://www.ece.uwaterloo.ca/Graduate/MEng/ProgramInfo/CourseAndCreditRequirements/

Thank u so much to make me clear abt the difference between them, Jernest. I have a doubt regarding the part-time programs....Below is the link of the U of C Meng. details (course based).
they have mentioned that "There is no full-time study requirement and the program is normally completed on a part-time basis"

Does this mean that MEng is done only as Part-Time course. If so will it be good for my job in the future?

The part-time basis probably means that you will likely be able to have a lower course load than if you were in a full-time program. For example, where I study at the University of Guelph I am considered a full-time student and I do 1-2 courses per semester plus research. So likely your requirements will be less than this and it will allow you to work at the same time you are studying. It will likely take you longer to complete the program if you do it on a part-time basis as well. However it doesn't say it is necessary to study part-time, you can do it full-time, it is just not common (at least thats what I understand from the page). One important thing to note about the webpage you posted is that there is no financial assistance in that program.
