I'll skip the rant part of my post, as I'm too lazy to write it and you all know what I mean anyways.

I just want to say thanks to the newer members (100-250 posts) that are doing the write thing when dealing with the massive amount of n00bs semester end brings around. You guys that are reminding the posters in polite ways that they're not doing it right and should read rules, etc, but even still helping them are what keeps this site great.

Remember, even though some other, older members (I think only me so far) get a little heated, don't reply unless there's something usefull to be said. Something like "read rules" as the first reply doesn't help, and that's what we're here for. Even "it's in the help section as a tutorial" or saying that it is in the help file (saying "It's in the docs file under Music section" is helpful, where "read the docs" is not so much) is helpful. It's also a part of compsci.ca that we don't give them code when they ask "If you just post the code to make it work that'd be okay. Thanks". I think Dan's trying to get in with the school boards (especially since Turing went out the window), and they won't take the site seriously if we're giving away answers and helping them cheat.

Mainly, this post was a thanks - keep it up. And have fun now, because once summer hits the site quiets down a bit. Use that time to learn a new language, as usually the people that hang around with no lives can help

Hmm, I might be a little less bored than usual this summer! Nah, I'm kidding, my summer's actually booked full! (3 camping trips, a wonderland trip, a russian kid coming over, my birthday, gamesday (see warhammer thread), windurfing every weekend...). I do intend to learn python this summer, too (it's free and not turing!). Hey wait, I'm one of those 100-250 post guys you were talking about! Well, thank you Aziz! I do try to make amusing posts while still being helpful/extremely unhelpful.

Yeah, you guys know all about the chernobyl excplosion, right? (If you don't, it was a nuclear plant that went boom 50-odd years ago). So now the area is loaded with radioactive radiation and everybody's got cancer. There is a program called 'Canadian friends of chernobyl's children' who send a bunch of kids from Belarushia (once a part of Rushia) to Canada for the summer to get awawy from the radiation. I've been told that one year away from that place will add ten years or so to the child's lifespan.; So, we've got one coming over this year! should be interesting (it's also the reason we're going to wonderland; the program gives us free passes).


Nick...Nick...Should I remember this guy? And he was more annoying than me? I'd better try harder...

Oh, and my mom was in a car accident last night. She rear-ended a stopped car at 60km/h with our sprinter (i.e. a really big van). Don't know if it's fixable, but I was really worried about the windsurfing gear that was inside it.


Oh yeah, my mom was fine. And the gear survived! (Did I mention I was really worried about the windsurfing gear?)

How does 1986 become '50-odd years ago'?

I didn't know the exact date, what am I, a historian? I'm also not a geographer, thus I didn't know exactly what the contry was called/spelled. I knew something was wrong with my spelling of russia, but I couldn't figure it out. I feel really dumb right now. Guess I should mention that anything from before I was born, even if it's only 6 years, is '50-odd years ago' from my perspective.
