[FP] Greatest 3D Air Plane Game

Here's our final project for the year 2007-2008 compsci class. Enjoy.

Hint:
Read the Instructions
Try pressing the keys
1,2,3,...9 and m (after you fire a missile) during the game
It's a newly added feature.

I like it. One thing to note is that it feels very awkward to go up or down. the axis is usually reversed (pressing UP puts the nose DOWN). also, if you can automatically adjust the view to always be behind the plane it would be easier to see how close you are to the enemy planes and such. Plus, it would look better.Keep up the good work.

wow, really impressive! I liked how you had mountains and clouds. I recommend you add a light blue background for the sky and change the clouds to white though.

yeah the controls are awkward but 3d turing makes my mind blow up,

that being said i think i would have had more fun with a 2d version of this, just cuz i found the controls took away from the expericance,

but yeah as i said you are pretty leet, i'm very envious of your 3d skills

Hey guys

Thanks for everyone's support and suggestion; You guys are wonderful
Ahson and I changed around some of the controls to make it easier and also added more views
so the 3D might work out
Now the down and up keys are switched and (thanks to Carey)
there is new keys:
i- shifts screen up
k- shifts screen down
j- shifts screen left
l- shifts screen right
tell me if it works better...
The background was changed to light blue and the clouds are now white (thanks lordroba)

PS btw I forgot to tell you guys last time there's actually a plot ending after level five (last level)!

PPS The code'll be out as soon as the year ends and we hand it in to our teacher.

ok, sweet. It's a lot better with the new controls. I know I suggested you make the sky blue, but if you can, make it a linear gradient. Light blue on the bottom, and darker as you get higher, just like a real sky. Kinda like THIS. You might also want to add collision detection for the mountains. Other than that, keep up the good work!

Woo! first place in the high scores! This is definitely one of the few games that actually stays on my hard drive! Great work!

3-D would be cool to learn, too bad the z-axis is obscure, it would be so eazy otherwize!

Thanks everyone for the reviews, It's great that you guys actually took the time to play this game and gave support! I've heard many people saying 3D is pretty hard to get use to <esp. from my class (Yes that does mean you guys J and A)>
Is there any way to make the game easier for players? (without completely changing the view to turn with the cockpit because I have no clue how to do that)
Ahson and I are actually currently working on mountain collisions and a gradient sky.
We'd also like to make the game better (maybe multiplayer over the net? more weapons? different stats for planes?)
tell me if you guys have any ideas.

PS we've handed the game in to the teacher (hoping for a good mark)

It's a good game, however you need to fix some things.

I attempted to deleate the entire file off my computer at school, however was unable to. Your ClearScore.exe is non-deletable. This needs to be fixed.

Movement of the plane should be changed as mentioned above.

Other then that, good work.

And Sean, I assure you, it's nothing he did that made the program un-deletable. It's probably still being used in your system (in RAM, check task manager under Processes).

I'd like to try this game, but I don't have Turing at work . If you're feeling up to it (perhaps after marks come back if you don't want classmates ripping you off), you can release your source code. It'd make for great learning experience for some of those around here.

On some school servers exe files are non-deletable to prevent students from deleting system files.
