I was wondering what is Pascal. What type of languge is it? For what purposes is it used? Also why is it not one of the languages accepted by this computer science website?

Moved to General Programming.

It's not that Pascal is not accepted here, it's that there's not enough interest in the language in order to warrant a separate forum for it. If you have any Pascal related questions, just stick them in this forum.

...and as far as I know Turing descended from Pascal. It was usually used for teaching.

Turing has not so much descended, as was "greatly inspired" by Pascal's syntax. It should be super easy to pick up on that language, since it's so similar looking.
