Hello,

C/C++ are not my main things, but I grew up with the K&R and Bjarne books and try and keep up. Does anyone here have any experience with the Student version of Ch by SoftIntegration? V6.0 is out and I like the Standard Edition. Need some opines on whether the advanced features are worthy of purchase.

Any positive or negative feedback would be appreciated. Umm, feedback regarding the Value Added features that is.

Those would be Ch/Embedded, ChIDE, Computational Arrays, Plotting, Numeric Analysis, bindings to LAPACK and in particular, the Graphics Library, SIGL would be nice to know about.

Now, before I send anyone off to be a pirate, the FreeWare license states that Ch/Student is only for registered students and only for class use. I assume that means if you are not taking a C/C++ course, you may be in breach. IANAL so I'm not sure as this line only occurs once on the website. The product can be downloaded and use freely, but it must be restricted to use in conjunction with classes in an institution. Does that mean someone taking a Turing class can use it for comparison? Dunno. I wish I had this when I was in school.

I like the way I have Ch/Standard setup and don't really want to gut it to try the 30 day Professional Eval if I can just ask here instead. Besides, within a 30 day span, I may only touch C a few times so limited time installs don't do it for me. I wouldn't really call Ch C++, but they taut it as "close".

Cheers and Thanks
