I have perused this forum and noted that most people understandably want to be programmers, software engineers and so forth. Does anyone here want to get into computer/cyber forensics? ... Are there any computer/cyber forencisists in here? If so, what educational training do you recommend?
Cheers

I hured that it was more CSI/Police force persons that sepsesialse in it then computer sci grads. You may have to become a cop or CSI befor you could get in to computer forensics for police or RMCP.
However if you whont to do that kind of stuff for cvial ogransitions like CSIS and others they offten recurete computer sci grads. |

I would imagine that CSI would hire consultants for this sort of thing, but that is a guess. I suppose it depends on how much of an expert one has to be for a given task.
If computer forensics call for retrieving data from an encrypted hard-drive that was ripped out of the computer and smashed against the wall -- you'd need someone who could reconstruct the drive both mechanically and electronically (so Electrical Engineer + CS/Security). Though then again, how often does that really happen? |
