Halo 3 (Spoilers, probably)

So who has played it and what do you think? The single player was kind of boring, but co-op is looking pretty fun. The AI is really good too, which is refreshing - they seem to be good at getting a vantage point as well as at flanking, at least on Legendary. Great last level, totally lame ending to the story though. (I'll say little, for those of you who haven't finished it yet, but Halo 4: Start Another Fight is all but guaranteed now (with $170m in first day sales, they'd be crazy not to) ).

But 9.5 on Gamespot? Not even close. I'd put it at 8.5. Maybe the multiplayer picks up the slack. It looks like it's very customizable - you can change everything from spawn locations (for players, weapons, vehicles, objects) with the Forge, and customize everything else in the menus. Alas, I don't have XBox Live. EB games gave me a guaranteed $50 trade in coupon with it, so I think I'll use that to grab Mass Effect in November. Right in time for finals... bastards!

This game is all over the place, now. I don't have actually have a 360 and I've resisted the Youtube ending videos so I still don't know what the ending is.
One question though, did you see the cutscene after the credits when you said the conclusion was lame? I read that the Youtube videos didn't have it and that is was key in explaining the conclusion to the trilogy.
That being said, if you skip the credits then maybe you should go back and play the vinal level again.

Oh certainly. On Legendary, too. And the after the credits part made it even more lame.

Martin, Halo 3 single player may be great, but multiplayer is what makes Halo. It's amazing - Halo 2 storyline wasn't that great, but it was the best console online game. I love the way Bungie does their online ... the updating, the playlists, etc. I was playing over Live the other day with a friend & we were in Forge mode. It's the return of the Warthog launch on 'roids. Piled ~12 fusion coils underneath a warthog and blew it up with a laser. My lord. It's also infinitely fun to bring someone who hasn't used forge yet and battle with them, then change to edit mode and throw scorpion tanks at them
