I've seen everyone with it... the 3d effects look neats.... but how do I install it properly?
I've read various sites but following them never yielded much success... the beryl manager installed but could never switched to the beryl manged windows... the windows just kinda flashed and went back to normal...
anyone have expertise with this particular subject?
I'm running 7.04 on an ati x1400 card with Algx or whatever, but I;m willing to change x servers... |

It isn't really worth it. I grew tired of it soon enough, but good luck with it. I couldn't explain how to get it set up, I just followed some random guide. |

I just found it in the "Add/Remove Programs" menu. I started having problems, so I JFG'edI, and came across a little guide explaining I should add this to my xorg.conf file (found in /etc/X11/xorg.conf)
code: |
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enabled"
EndSection
|
But I'm not sure if it'll work with your computer. Best to back up your xorg.conf before you try anything:
code: |
>> sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak |
and then edit away! |

Can you paste the contents of your xorg.conf file here, the output of 'glxinfo', and a list of installed packages relating to Beryl. That'll help figure this out (it is probably some small missing piece of the puzzle, Beryl is generally dirt-simple to set up in Edgy and Feisty) |
