As I recall from Alpha, Gandalf and I had a little war about this. We were karma trading, except dealing in negative karma. He'd lower mine, I'd lower his. Here's the catch: I was a mod, he wasn't. This means that he was limited to lowering my karma by one per day, but I can do whatever I want with his.
I'm not sure if it's the same way in this release of v3, but I'm eager to test it out.
