I feel it refreshing to see many like-minded Canadian "geeks" (I fall into this category) teaching/helping each other learn more about technology.

When I saw that you had a "Ruby" forum, I instantly began searching for a "Perl" forum.

But alas! There was none!

Can this be? Am I the only Canadian student who has learned (and continues to) learn Perl? It comes as a great surprise, as for the last decade it had been the leading CGI scripting languages (now dethroned by PHP).

I'm wondering if you guys might consider creating a Perl forum. I've had fun teaching some of my peers in my Computer Info Tech class the wonders of Perl. I'd be happy to write a few tutorials for this site if such a forum was in place.

You're not alone; but as there are so few perl programmers here anything related to perl just goes into General Programming.

Alas there is likewise no pascal forum... and very few pascal programmers as well.

Yeah, I'm not sure there are many Perl programmers here. I want to learn it, but it's not at the top of my list. It's below C++, Java, and possibly D.

I am a pretty decent Perl programmer. Feel free to ask any questions you have, or to post tutorials in the General Programming forum. If memory serves, I've posted at least a few things about Perl.

Most of the Ruby content started out in General Programming, and was kept there until enough of it was generated (thx wtd) to be moved into a forum of its own.

Feel free to start Perl discussions in [General Programming] though
