Congrats on your new computer. I know there's a program called CPU-Z that I think you can get for free. Also if you go to run in your menu and type in DXDIAG and run it the DirectX diagnostic Tool will come up and give you information about your computer. |

Mine is usually around that level, no issues so far. I'd start to worry if it got up to 60 though.
[edit] actually mine is usually at ~40 sometimes less at idle; but if it's been running at 50% + CPU usage for a while it will warm up to 50... it cools off very fast afterwards however. |

Personally, I feel that anything over 65C is too hot and can damage your equipment... My laptop right now, running an Intel T2050 is at 42C right now, so the temperature is fine for it, its not buring me... Now moving to my desktop which is more powerful, AMD X4200+, with 5HDs in it, it is running around 42C most of the time also... So 45-50 is not really that high since when I start gaming on desktop, the temp can raise 5-10 degress considering what I am doing... |

yes stealtharcher
thats what happens on my laptop... it is sizzling hot when adapter power is
on.. but i leave it on anyways. it might be an issue with those stupid batteries (probably made by sony xd)
btw this new comp made my jaws drop when it managed to complete XP setup in under 10 minutes. but of course, with my slow internect connection, i managed to download sp2 in a more shocking time of 5 hours. |

Wow! 5 hours for sp2? Do you have a 28k or 56k modem or something else? |

my computer runs at 39C when idle and ~48-52C when playing games. So my comp dosen't do too bad. considering the poor ventalation (dam thing only came with ONE fan, and thats with the PSU) i think it runs pretty well. so farn, nothing hppened to it yet (a whole 2 months and no blue screen of death from windows... is that a record XD) |
