I'm making a poster for a Halo 2 tournement and i'm having a bit of a problem brightening areas behind the text. The software i'm using is Macromedia Fireworks*. I can brighten the whole picture but i want to brighten the parts behind the text so they stand out more.

I also want to blend in the shading behind the text to the rest of the picture so it's all smooth.

If you need the picture to see what i'm talking about, just ask and i'll post it.

Edit: Never mind, i figured it out after screwing up for half an hour.
