Hey, I decided to start working on a battle system in my Phantom Gear game and I was wondering if anyone could assist me with formulas for damage calculation. (I'm not too happy with the formulas that I used in Phantom Gear Tactics so that's why I need a new set)
I need an equation that uses a set of very basic stats such as: Strength, Agility, Intelligence, Vitality, Luck, Weapon Damage, Weapon Hit%, Armour Value, and Armour Evasion%
If it's not any trouble, levelup formulas would also be usefull. So formulas to determine how much each of the stats goes up as you level level up, and how much experience points are required to get to the next level. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Most level ups aren't based on formulaes, but on tables I believe. Especially in MMORPG's, as it keeps it solidly balanced. |

Level ups can be based on formula... sometimes it's a "here are 5 stat points per level" type of formula. Diablo comes to mind.
And why do you need help? These formulas are not some sort of hard-set thing. They come about from estimation, trial, and error. Even the tables are made that way.
A normal rule is "if something is too weak or too strong (or too low or too high) double or halve it, to begin with, and go from there to find the best value." |
