hey guys, i was wondering if anyone here has attempted or successfully ran windows games in linux using cedega and or wine. Im getting my laptop for university right after new years and im having a decision of whether to put linux on there or leve windows and run linux via VMware or dual boot it, but if i install linux i gotta make sure i can play wow and bf2 lol..mainly bf2 cause im off WoW nowdays. So i was wondering if anyone has had success in running games with cedega and wine cause i was on cedega's forums recently and there was a large number of people having random memory errors when trying to run bf2 and wow, but on the other hand there were a lot of them who successfully managed to run the games with all the latest patches installed.

I've had lots of success and lots of failure with cedega. Supported games tend to run fine, unsuported games may or may not run. Usually fiddling around with the settings will improve how well things run as well.

[edit] I haven't tried BF2 or WoW, but BV:1942 and BF:V both run really well.I'm having problems with my other media however... so installign things is going slowly.

ah, ya i saw a lot of screenshots for bf2,warcraft3,wow and many other games but since im not a "hard core" gamer i dont really care for anything else lol..if bf2 and wow run on linux im fine with it Smile..i dont really get much time to play anyways but oh well. Also, since u guys have cedega i have another question. I have to buy it right? And whats the deal on it like is it a one-time payment and im done or i gotta pay for every single update.Thanx again guys Very Happy
