PostPosted: Sat Aug 26, 2006 10:26 pm   Post subject: Petition to destroy the Iranian nuclear facilities

While you are reading this, the Iranian reactor produces enriched bomb-grade uranium. Terrorists can deliver that bomb to your city, and it can kill you and your children. Yet the government does nothing.

Do we demand violence? Not in any common sense. Similarly, police use force to arrest criminals in order to stop violence.

But Iran is not a criminal? Wrong. Iran has proven malicious intent. Iran, under the current regime, conducted many terrorist bombings in the West, and sponsors deadly terrorists. Iranian leaders repeatedly called for fight against the United States and annihilation of Israel.

Perhaps Iran needs nuclear weapons for self-defense? No. Iran already bullies the Middle East with its huge conventional army. No country threatens Iran.

Since the eighth-century jihad and the Ottoman army at the gates of Vienna, the West has never been exposed to such threat. Iran's several nuclear bombs can inflict more damage on America than the World War II. Never before the Islamic fundamentalists who hate the West and dream of attacking it had military might of apocalyptic dimensions. Are you crazy to doubt they will use the bomb?

We call on the United States: Do not hesitate. Protect your people. Protect your allies. Destroy the Iranian reactor!

Did anyone else look into the whole "liquid explosives" thing recently? It's like the terrorism "experts" took a page from hollywood with the stuff. If anyone had even bothered to look into what they said hte terrorists were trying to make they'd have found that it was rediculously implosible (if not impossible).

Keeping people from blowing up airplanes, or killing everyone on them isn't possible anyways. It's kinda like when people still used big multiplexed mainframes in computing labs. People would take pride in being able to take down the lab machine though on programming hack or another; there is no way to keep people from doing so as there will always be bugs. But one group just added a system call to crash the machine and made it executable by anyone. Once the challenge went away it wasn't fun any more and people stopped doing it.

Once terrorism ceases to gain the widespread attention it does now people will stop doing it. The point in terrorism is to get a message across after all; if no one is listening then what's the point? 'Course terrorism is now a catch-all phrase for anything "evil" or "immoral"; and I highly doubt that the populace which now lives on fear is going to back down from that fear... especially when the powers that be can so easily use it for control (no conspiracy theories here, just plain possibilities).

Quote:

The people terrorists kill are not the targets; they are collateral damage. The real targets of terrorism are the rest of us: the billions who are not killed but are terrorized because of the killing. The real point of terrorism is not the act itself, but our reaction to the act. And we're doing exactly what the terrorists want.

either way this thread should really be locked/deleted...

but anyways, TheFerret makes a good point: why sign an American petition? I dont understand the logic behind that one Confused

@1of42 : i dont thing CompSci admins can actually delete a profile/account, just ban them Razz

actually Dan and I can do surprisingly a lot.

I'm pretty sure that deleting an account will actually make all of the posts appear to have been made by 'guest'

This thread doesn't have to be locked as long as people post on the topic itself, and not the fact that it was originated by a bot.

ive only seen one post on these forums that have been made by "guest", can guests actually post here anymore, or are they forced to sign up if they want to post?

on topic:

i was talking to a friend today (after my first post) and he actually brought up this very petition, and his views (in polite words) were very anti-American on this one (plus he didnt think the idea of signing an American petition was right (like me))

I aucatly did delete this post befor but aprently he posted it again. If he is not banned allready he is now.

Perosnaly i find it rather sickining that political gorups/partys whould try to market there planforms by using spam bots and trying to pretend to be younger persons posting on message borads.

Now about this aucatl subject of iran havin nucler weaponds.....dose any one eltes find it irorick that the contry most oposed to iran having nucler power is the conotry with the most nucler weaponds in the world? I say that befor they go around pointing fingures at peoleop they should get ride of there own nulcer wepaonds.

It's not really ironic. The US wants Iran to stop trying to make nuclear weapons (iirc they don't have one yet; but are close). The US on the other hand has the weapons and is building more.

The thing that will be most interesting is what will happen when Iran does make a nuke. Either the US ill back off, or it'll be instant war.

Maybe not ironic but deftaly hypticritacal. I do not trust the U.S. with a nuke any more then i trust iran.

Perosanly i think if they make a nuke they will back wayyyy off.

Interesting, very interesting, and could become very real if Iran (or anyone else for that matter) creates nuclear/biological weapons of mass destruction...
