I think its about time, I double my ps2 and xbox experience in my pc. If i buy this, how much frame rate will be increased in gaming? Cause some latest games that are coming out run shytty on my graphics card which is Intel(R)GL/PE/etc/etc. Any of you guys who have this/have experience with this, please mind giving me some tips on should I buy it or not? The details and link are as follows:
BFG GeForce 7300 GS OC 256MB PCI Express Video Card

what card are you on right now? 400 mhz gddr2 is really bloody slow.. you might as well get more ram and use a turbo cache or something.
431 Million Vertices/Sec. is pretty bad too.. what's your budget? futureshop isnt exactly bargain central... try to find someone that works at ATI to hook you up with a card, if i remember correctly, i could've got an x800 for a bit over 100? |

yeah well it was $50 bucks cheap till 22nd June but I decided not to buy it because some people I Know in the emulation forums told me it was gonna give me a max 10 fps boost which is still pretty crappy considering it starts out with 40 now and drops down to 5. So 15 is still pretty bad and a waste of money. I guess I will save more money and buy a Dual core new gaming comp later. |

lol, like andy said it depends on how much money you are willing to spend towards the card. Also it depends on what games you are playing too. I play games like bf2, F.E.A.R, far cry, wow and they all seem to run fine on my old overclocked 9550 lol. but some games work better either with nvidia based chipsets, or ATI chipsets. im not an expert at this but if u want, you can check out this link. This website is very good for hardware/software news and benchmark results and all that kinda stuff. www.tomshardware.com . Also the processor andy has the link to, its amazing because of the fact that if you have a CPU watercooling system, you can make that processor out-perform the latest AMD and even intel EE processors. But then again, the water cooling + the cpu is almost the same as the high end processors |

no offence or anything, but please get your facts right before posting.. those are not CHIPSETS, chipsets are the motherboard northbridge/southbridge controllers, those are ASICS. And if you read the benchmarks, the conroe 6700 is already kicking AMD's ass, and its about 3/4 the price, even the conroe 6600, (half the price of FX62) has comparable performance under STOCK settings. The new intel chipset makes it hard to OC, so watercooling does absolutely nothing. |

Not only that, but processor speed isn't nearly as influential as graphic card quality if you're doing a gaming rig.
Also, overclocking the processor creates a lot of heat, noise (unless you water cool), and consumes a lot more power.
