You'd probably get a better response asking about Starcraft or World of Warcraft.

I used to play Warcraft III TFT about a year ago. If I ever play it again, it will be this summer, and not much. Confused

People STILL play StarCraft? Doesn't that game die? seriously didn't it come out in 1997?

1998 I believe, but yeah, tons of people still play it. Like me. Razz

It's one of those classic games that doesn't really get old. I don't think it will "die" till Blizzard stops supporting it or else a StarCraft 2 is released.

Naw, even with the release of SC2 I am pretty sure the original SC will still be played. Its just too established to disappear like that. After all, in Korea they have sponsored Starcraft leagues, where your favourite players earn around $500,000 a year.

Yeah well, I play alot, yet i say no just because "I dont Clan It"
Y dont you just come to channel x? the ultimate channel for warcraft / starcraft / diablo/2. I'd rather just stay there, clans come and go, 'cept the higher 500+ people ones, but those are too spammy. If you end up getting the clan up, I'll visit, yet never join.

Don't forget the action figures in your pack of cheetos.

I never really caught the fad of continuous online RTS gaming.

I've enjoyed the campaigns for SC and WC1-3, and casual multiplayer rounds with friends, but the hardcore expert level the gameplay is a huge turnoff. The entire game seems to be less about overall strategy, tactics & teamwork (which I agree, have some part) - than who can hammer out the keyboard shortcuts most efficiently and send off the biggest Zerg rush the soonest.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I don't seem to have the patience I used to for micro management.

This is a very interesting view you have there codemage. One Ive never heard before. Of course, in my opinion, micro is not boring, and takes skill. Also the online games are definitely not nearly as static as you portray them. Sure micro is a lot, but its not as if its 3 units, rock paper scissors, gameplay. Terrain and strategy are huge. As for efficiency, it is after all, an RT strategy. If you want a more tactical warfare as opposed to strategic, try a turn based strategy like civilization or something.
