how do you convert videos to IPod

How do you convert videos from your computer to your IPod video? To convert normal videos like avi's or whatever to the correct format and to shrink it so that it would fit on the IPod screen. Is there a program that came with it, or I could download? Or maby someone could post a step-by-step on how. Or even a website that tells how.

It would be great if I could place some videos on it, so i could have somethin to watch when i have nothing to do at work...

This is why i like my MPIO player more then an ipod video. You get a bigger screen, more memory (depending) and the MPIO can play almost all standered fromat inculding Divx witch means that you get more for that space. Also it can stream the video and audio to out side sorces like a t.v. and stream audio in. Best of all it costs about the same depeding on where you buy it and has exteral speakers.

Only draw back is it needs more work on there ferem ware and software and more tech suport. My point (if i have one) is that ipod is not the only video/media/audio player around!
