hey guys. i was just wondering if anyone knows that whether freebsd can be used for programing or not. like for example in fedora u can install gcc using yum installer is it the same with unix too?. thanx

Honestly, I'd be really surprised if it isn't already there. Have you tried opening a Terminal and typing "which gcc"?

Any operating system can be used for programming (within reason...). No major modern operating system except windows ships without either having a compiler; or there being a very easy way to get one.
