Click.
This was Apple's way of saying "Hey all you people who spend hundreds of hours hacking at this... look what we can do." |

well if the hack was already out and spread, why not support it?
Besides, this way a Mac that runs both OSX and Windows becomes just so much more attractive to buy than a PC that runs Windows alone. |

No, because Mac software is really the only good thing about Macs (and I say good in a very contingent way). Mac hardware BLOWS. |

oh yes, good thing those PCs don't use any Intel chips
Though I think allowing access to both OSes is really the key in letting users try out OSX for the first time. It's kind of like a safety rope - if you slip and fall, you could reboot, load Windows and try OSX again later.
So this does make Macs more attractive to those hessitant users who weren't sure before. Increased hardware sales = more profits, and more importanly more exposure for Apple. They are betting (and I would too) that once you let someone use both OSes on the same computer, they would start to take preference of OSX. |

:: goes insane ::
It's "Mac". MAC is an acronym. "Mac" is an abbreviation of "Macintosh". |

as in MAC address - Media Access Control address)

No, I mean Mac, bad price:speed ratio. That's what I mean.
Andy: The Mac won by 1 second on an 11 minute script run time. It won by this much on 1 single benchmark. Further, while it might be the fastest on that specific benchmark, it had damn well better destroy the Acer on gaming - because the Acer was a good 1000 off winning 3DMark05, and lost the gaming benchmarks by wide margins.
No thanks.
Now, MacOS running on PCs might be nice. This, not so much. |

As far as laptops are considered, it's only Apple an Lenovo (IBM) that stand out. |

In surveys Apple consistently ranks the highest among laptop manufacturers for customer satisfaction. This comes from asking people who've actually shelled out the money and purchased a Mac laptop.
Far and away the majority of people complaining about the Mac are those who've not used them. |

I'm not sure how much I trust Apple customer's opinions. I know some people who would still give Apple a five star satisfaction rating if their house burnt down because of their computer. Even if the computer did it intentionally.
That said, my iMac is the nicest hardware that I've ever owned.

I'm a fan of Toshiba's laptops. If I were to get another laptop, it'd probably be a Toshiba. |

But of course you're just one very rare exception to that rule?
Something to ponder: Windows machines are vastly more widespread than Macs. Thus, it stands to reason that Mac users are vastly more likely to have experience with other manufacturers' product than users of those computers are to have experience with Macs.
Yet they still choose to use and buy Macs. You may find that there are a lot more cross-platform savvy Mac users than you think. |
