Didn't know if anyone even heard of this, or if its a little late to be posted, but Microsoft is holding a develop mental tour for their visual studio product. Theres only one "session" left, and its in Sault Ste. Marie this friday at Algoma U. Heres a link for the signup. Don't know if this will be helpfull to many, seeing as how about 3 users here are from the SSM area. Anyways, its free, and the first 250 people I think get free stuff to. Its basically them just marketing their product. Check it out if your interested.

I've posted about this, when Microsoft came to Waterloo. Same tour.

If anything, you get a pretty awesome book on C#, so come out for that. I think Andy wants one. Laughing

I just want to know how Microsoft heard about Algoma U in the first place. Laughing

Strangely, they're going to be the first North American school to offer a masters in "computer gaming"... whatever that means.

Went to the presentation today, very well done, great information, free Visual C # Express (not the whole Visual Studio as advertised Mad), Build a Program Now (the introductory book), and i received a free case of 7up... Didn't win the XBOX 360, but my friend won a Infusion shirt that says Code Hero... Anyways, learnt alot about 3D gaming and now I'm going to start using VC# instead of turing, and stop learning Java.

I guess so. Who can resist free stuff?

Still better C# than Turing, and some might say Java. Can't say how successful you will be in the transition, though.

Heh, they were giving them out to everybody at Waterloo. I've got two. I guess they started to run out later in the tour (turnout at UW was more than expected)
