"Should we add a Google-like search engine but twice as good hard-core into Windows? Guess what. If we did that, I don't think a company called Google would be very happy"

I don't care what they bundle into Vista. As long as it can be turned off. |

That's the point, you can't. IE is integrated into the OS. That is actually part of the reason why Windows is so redicilously vulnarable, as exploits in the browser open up access to the OS itself. |

I renamed messenger. Out of sight, out of mind, at least. |

You can remove messager by doing somthing to the regsitry so it will show up in remove programs. I forget the excat regsitry key at the moment but i am shure it is easyly findable with google. Tho this was b4 some big windows patches so it chould have been "fixed" by now.
I hate IE so much, i wish like linux u could download and install your own file browsing applications that whould replace it. |

i find nothing wrong with IE and msn =/ I mean, why would you want to remove IE? After all, it is the *only* broswer that works with windowsupdate... (good job, MS) |

I will take it as if you were being sarcastic about IE. But if you were not, then you need to see a list of 10 pages on how IE sucks. |

Windows messenger can be removed using the add/remove windows components part of add/remove programs. It's super simple. |

Don't know about everyone else, but when I first installed Windows XP I would get messenger popping up every time I logged on. Couldn't remove it, and the only way to stop it from starting up was renaming the .exe to .crap (not in startup, checked a bunch of registry keys, nothing).
I find that, about IE, I agree with bugzpodder. Another one of their forceful control schemes. |
