I have a suggestion... make 3 levels of judging,
1.Newbie - Only had 1 semester of Turing taught (if at all in school)
2.Intermediate - Had 1 yr + teaching, know quite a bit
3.Expert - Speaks for itself, makes awesome programs tha tno one understand how they work Smile

Because i worked really hard on my FP, but now that ive gotten better, i realise it SUCKS Very Happy lol so maybe with the 3 lvl thing, you could encourage the new people to submit theirs, even though a lot are better than theirs.

the thing is , when you submit , you submit your age and skill level , and you get graded accordingly , so really we already have a level sysem built in

end of 2006 school year. Since some (most) schools are semestered, half the students might be taking their computer science course in the other half of the year.

Yes, in fact, this is what most people do. You may want to wait till it has been marked though, it's up to you.

Maybe, but you have to keep in mind that many submissions come in compiled form, so there is no way to mark the source. I don't think it's too big a deal to comment a program, and extraneous comments would indeed make the source code worse.

No, it is not Turing only. It is any language which can be run or compiled on most computers. You can submit any program of your own you wish, at basically any time.

If you don't have Turing, you are free to use any other language instead. Or you can use one of your old (compiled) programs if you think they are worthy.

Yeah, .Net would be allowed since it is a widely available programming environment. It is limited to only Windows, but then again, so is Turing.

Good luck getting Turing back and posting some good FP. Smile

Is there a restriction to what enviroment/compiler you use, cause i recently got coding on Borland DS, and i gota say its like VB except its alittle bit harder and whole heck faster. Shocked !
