not to jack your thread, but maybe you'd like to see my stitch together of the last lunar eclipse.
it was a while ago, but i think i did the extra zoom on the lens for the last two at 200mm, not done on post.

yea thats pretty good. i actually hadn't done any moon shots or anything, and since it was the last lunar eclipse for a while i decided to see what i could do with it. i think its out of focus because it was a slowish exposure time, and the moon's movement caused some blur (you can see extended leading edges).
i love trying new things with the camera, here's my first attempt at lightening. took a while of ghost shooting at a 5 second exposure time for something to happen in the time frame, but i think it turned out well.

Kodak Easy Share Z612 if you are intrested Eww, Kodak. I've had very bad experiences with their digital cameras. If it were me, I would've saved a couple hundred more and got an entry-level DSLR. Anyways, it's better than what I've got. My SLR isn't digital and is from the 70s (takes great shots though and I have a nice macro lens and a nice zooming lens). It's a Ricoh XR-500.

That's what my dad just bought. I think he even has the same lens.
EDIT: Now that I check, he actually has the newer D5000.

I would have, but I already pushed my budget by $100, and the camera is a extremely good camera. (besides macro)

you should look into Nikon or even Canon if you haven't yet. the main reason being that you can find lenses for pretty cheap as used for these brands, plus Nikon has the best quality glass for our price range, and Canon has best quality glass for professional price range.
if i were to get a camera right now, i would get a Nikon D70, it's a few years old now and discontinued and you can get it for very cheap. but even so, many professional photogs still carry them around because they are so good. also, you should just get a body, or maybe one with a kit lens, then pick up a 50mm prime lens and learn how to use the camera before jumping into zoom lenses.

due to inclement weather, there haven't been any nice photos to take. Hopefully (if the forecast is correct) i should have a nice and sunny day to take pictures. that being said i should have at least 2 photos up by the end of the week (weather dependent)
