you can get a free trial of 3DSMAX5 (not sure about 6 yet) from discreet (spelling?) for 30 days. At which point you reset your system's clock back a month and continue using it Laughing

heck, if you dont have a broadband connection (what kind of host will allow you to post a trial of 3DSMAX??) they'll even mail you the CD Wink

Yeah, or you could acquire Max "illegaly." OR, if you're actually interested in 3D graphics and therefore are willing to take the time to learn the interface, you can get Blender (www.blender.org) for... how much? For FREE!

By the way that program in the Tutorial is Lightwave...
Lightwave has the best modeler because it has layers, but if you want to animate something you better export Lightwave models into 3dsMax.. Very Happy.
* I guess there is a layering system in the newers version of 3dsMax.

Does anyone have a 3d Program here?
You can also get Povray for free...

POVRay (IF I remember correctly, which I sometimes don't) isn't actually a 3D modelling program, just a raytracer. So, you can model something in 3DSMax, Blender, Lightwave, Wings3D or something, then export it, and then render it in POVRay. Or maybe you can model in POVRay and I'm just totally wrong.

Umm, I'm not sure about POVRay then myself...

Yeah, POVRay just renders. There isn't any UI to design models with a mouse or anything, it's all done in code.

I'm undecided between 3DSmax or Lightwave..
