easy nice looking energy ball in 5 minutes

This tutorial is made SUPER explainitory so even the biggest of newbs will understand it. Overall, if you know what your doing, you can make the energy ball in under 2 minutes.
This is what we are going to be making

And this is how you do it, (very explainitory)

First thing you do is make a ball dark blue color (make sure there is no lines and it is a solid ball)

Then highlight the ball, and go to modify, soften fill edges,
Select about 70 pixels and 8 steps

Then select the actuall ball in the center, change its color to a teal- like circular radial, (make it a very very soft radial so its not that noticable)

Then select the outermost ring, copy it and paste it on a different layer away from the cirble, make it a bit lighter (Hold shift + F9) then expand it so its a fair bit bigger then the circle, like a background to the ball, or a halo type thing.

It should look like this


Then select the Second farthest ring and copy it, paste it in the frame with the background circle, and enlarge it so its about a little more then half way inside the outer halo.

Soften Fill Edge it to about 100px. 8 steps

if there is extra stuff on the outer layers, just delete it, when your done it should look something like this

There you are now done the actual ball, if you know what your doing, that should only take about 1-3 minutes,


Now we want to give it a cool wavy energy feel, so we use the POWER OF MASKING to help us!

- First you make the whole ball a symbol (both layers)
- Put it to 30 Fps
- Make it so there are 3 layers (the ball on the farthest to the bottom)


Now on the TOP layer, make a Ring, it should be a bit bigger then the main inner cirble, make it a sized 10 line, and convert it to a fill. ( i made mine yellow)



Now make all 3 layers 40 frames long,
Motion tween the ring, make the last keyframe very big, Scale it so it just goes around the very edge of your large energy ball.

NOW, copy the entire energy ball you made, and paste it in the 2nd layer. (the empty one in the middle)
(scale it so its considerably bigger but even and equal to the smaller size



- Go to the very first frame, Right click and hit MASK, AND POOF
You are DONE, at the end it should look like this

Now you can do this in different colors / sizes / play around, there is alot to offer in this idea of masking and flash making, and can be used for things like water ripples or wave effects.
