A bunch of experts put loads of time into implementing the STL for you. Do you really think the advantages of making an array wrapper that only does what you need from it right now outweigh having the vector class already there for you?

Not trying to sound like a condescending prick, but I'm curious as to whether you ever find yourself in a situation like that.

EDIT: And let's not forget why we're even discussing arrays here. I'm not sure the original poster is ready to start writing his own templated classes (or at least, not when this was posted).
