Hello comspci.
I am having trouble Generating a stand alone program using Turing 4.1.1.1 and 4.1.1

The program runs fine when I hit Run
but When I click on Run--> Generate Stand Alone - Program-->Ok--> Save. My output file is a generic "File" no exe.
I tried all three save types
I even tried adding .exe to the end of the file name. Still no luck

What could be the problem?

4.1.1 is broken. 4.1 should work. I dunno why it's outputting 'file'.

It's a known problem with 4.1.1. Get 4.1.0 from http://compsci.ca/holtsoft/

Thanks guys still no luck. Could it be because im using windows 7? still outputs a file extension i guess.
I tried 4.1.1 as well as 4.1 couldnt find 4.1.0 and also tried a 3 version they all output the same thing any other suggestions?

It could indeed be a Windows 7 thing. Don't know what to say though. Some have gotten it to work (somehow), but I know that others have also been having various issues.

I'm pretty sure I've had Turing generate working executables on Windows 7. Can you check that your "Save As" dialog doesn't have something funny selected as either the file type or the file name? Can you try changing the file name to something else, such as "my_file"? Perhaps Turing has (yet another) weird bug.

Turing 4.1 will (normally, does for me and others I know) compile in Windows 7.

Turing also works in Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit) for me. I've used 4.1 and 4.0.5 before.

My suggestion would be to download and install 4.0.5.
