WARCRAFT Its all i play. Ever. I also program famous wc3 maps. Oh joy. I can send you them if you like, they are quite fun. NERD INFO: the word "pwned" originated from wc3 when a fellow mapper misspelled "owned." then it stuck. In conclusion, warcraft 3 is very fun. Well its too competitive for new learners, and you will lose every game ever if you start to play now. Rise of the Triad is the best DOOM wannabe back in '95 oh that game was awesome X-COM games are my #2 favourite.. YES! An my #3 favourite is Baldurs Gate 1. |

Get it right, "pwned" was around long before Warcraft3. Try somewhere around the time of Warcraft2. |

Yeah, pwn'd has definately been around for a lot longer than warcraft 3. In the original UT, the bots would say 'Pwnage!' My sources point to either Warcraft (1) or Quake as the origination of the word. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pwned |

I don't think Warcraft I had either a.) online capability or b.) map design. Hence I don't see how it could be warcraft I which would lead me to believe it was warcraft II. (I'm certain about a, not entirely sure about b though) |

any DOS games I tried in winXP, it'd either not run, or just show me a blank screen, then when I alt tab, my monitor LED flashes from green to yellow and back and forth. |

Yes, i know it didnt come from wc3. I meant just warcraft. quoth urbandictionary.com: Quote: 1. pwned A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned." Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned." It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force. "Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned." OR "That team totally pwned us." |

Kick Ass Game: Gentoo Linux-Install:
A bad thing is that you only get one life. So if you screw up, you have to start over. But that's ok, because the ending is really worth it. |

Sounds cool but I remember hearing that the cutscenes looked pretty cheap and crappy. That true? |
Author: | templest [ Wed Nov 17, 2004 7:50 am ] |
Post subject: | |
Are you kidding? The cut scenes are longer than the gameplay! They can run for 2 - 3 hours at a time. The one on the partition level is pretty crappy and short. But my-oh-my, the kernel level will give you goosebumps! Not to mention that depending on how well you do in the game, they all change accordingly. It even has multiple endings! |

I actually feel kind of indifferent to this. I mean, sure, this surfaced from somewhere on the 20-someodd page, but it'll die soon enough again. Although it seems a lot of posts at the bottom of this forum are locked. It also seems their order is messed up. I see posts with replies from 2006 down on page 25. Wierd. |
