Get the lastest Mozilla 1.7 BETA Installer, or the FireFox 1.7 Installer, Download the Java runtime envirornment from http://java.com, install. Restart the browser. Done. It's exactly how I did it. (with the 1.7 BETA)

EDIT: Link doesn't work for some reason. type it out in the browser. "java.com"

kid... the user environment. Just to run java apps. http://java.com

the file is 346KB (installer). Then it'll download about 3-5 MB more to install it. Installs in just under a minute on my computer, cable internet. That's why there are no third-party mozilla/firefox plugins... you don't need one. Well there are, but mainly for Linux. Since some people find it tricky to install it, for some wierd reason.

EDIT: You're probably thinking of http://java.sun.com <~ which provides the full environment. http://java.com <~ gives you just the stuff you need to run java apps.
