This is a very bad time in the computing world: Ubuntu Forum, Apple Developer Centre, NASDAQ and other sites have been hacked.
Apple Developer site hack: Turkish security researcher claims responsibility
Ubuntu Forum Hack Affects 1.8M, Time to Get a Password Manager
Nasdaq forum website hacked, passwords compromised
Oh, oh, I need to learn cryptography...nothing is secure, if you post something on the Internet, even if there is 256-bit encryption, it can still be hacked.

Encryption doesn't really protect a website from attacks, it just protects the information inside it from being used. Nobody actually got your password from the Ubuntu forum, they only got the encrypted keys. Whoever took it will probably get some passwords out of it, but it's very unlikely that they will get yours, especially if your password is unique, and it's only an issue if you use the same password for multiple sites.
