EDIT : Do not download the zipped version its the original , the rar is the newest , if someone would like to add a zipper version of this rar it would be nice 5 + people asked me to add a menu so i made one READ THE HELP FILE first then just run the menu.exe there is no need to be a hero , il garuntee the apps wont work if you dont read the help file , and you will need to know the commands , Grade : 11 took compsci 10 and 11 now Level : Advanced Turing EDIT added source |

its not bad, but just seems simple. A bit of GUI would take your app a long way. another major issue is the app being spread out though the 4 separate .exes. Something like a menu program that loads those mini apps in correct order would also be useful. |

OUr teacher wouldnt let us make a menu or anything , he said thats not how they work in real life , apparently he made one for a supermarket , and well i made it how he wanted it , if o dont i get a bad mark |

NP, was testing whing is better. 7-Zip RAR Or Zip :S Rar is much better. It supports more types of files and it compresses them even smaller then ZIP. |
Author: | rizzix [ Sat Jan 24, 2004 2:22 pm ] |
Post subject: | |
7z is crazy. (slightly smaller than .rar, but faster decompression) |
Author: | Maverick [ Sat Jan 24, 2004 2:23 pm ] |
Post subject: | |
Oh didnt even see 7 zip there. Its also a good compresser. |

Well, it's a good start, many people choose to go straight to games for FP, instead of making an application or something. So props for that. But the way you set it up, it shouldn't be multiple apps, it should all be in one program. Maybe if you used some kind of graphical interface, your own, or turings, doesn't matter, you would probably get a higher mark. |
Author: | shorthair [ Sun Jan 25, 2004 12:33 pm ] |
Post subject: | |
no i would of got a lower mark believe it or not , i posted that my teacher made one for the Big B , supermarket , and that is hows its done in real life apparently , i was all for making it one app , but you need multiple apps for whe nyou get into all the subprograms , his consisted of 180 programs , and 15 of which the user entered information the rest did calculations for different things , i wasnt meant to have a menu , but i added it for tony and Mckenzies sake " and it was good practise " |

tony tony , this is paying your workers , you dont scan workers with a barcode and touchscree nthere info , you silly little devil |
Author: | Tony [ Sun Jan 25, 2004 2:37 pm ] |

hahaha well when I'll become a CEO, I'll revolutionize buisness world by sticking a barcode on every worker's forhead (or neck, whatever works out best) and I'll be scanning them in. |

I thought that this was pretty good shorthair. Some might not like the fact that it is not as flashly as a game, but i feel that it is a worthy submission. I do think that a main menu, through which you can access each exe. from would be usefull, as well as some GUI to sharpen the application up, |

Did you not run the menu app, sorry if you missed it , but it is there , take a look , i had alot fo people ask me about this , so i added in a menu, i think i know why its different for you ,only the rarred version has the menu , hte zip does not that was made a while ago ive added a new version of my app now . |

Well ive got replys saying that this sux becasue it dosent do anything cool, i thought these FP'S were about hte code ,the hard work and the concept , not everyone needs or likes to code games , if your gonna rate FP'S people mark then not opn what you like but as an unbias view , |

that's true, but a unwillingly we tend to lean tawards the cool visual fractor. and while the code complexity should be an important factor... well... games could be made in 20 lines
of code |
