I'm sitting here reading the forums and thinking to myself that there are quite a few forum members that go to UW. Seeing as I'm bored most of the time, and I like eating I was wondering if any of the members here would like to go out for wings at morties some night... if you haven't heard of morties... well... 'tis good Oh... and if your of age then drinking is good too ![]() |

Don't complain when people pay you for no reason... it's generally considered a good thing. There are other people who are currently at UW though, I'm almost sure of it. So perhaps if enough people are interested and some time can be found... |

[edit] Upon further thought why limit it to UW students; I'm thinking anyone who enjoys a good meal and is in waterloo is free to come [edit 2] Bill Gates is comming to UW! Hopefully I'll be able to get tickets... |

It's actually not at all that biased; just visit the mathsoc webpage (if you're in math or cs) For other faculties I don't know where you'd register. |

EngSoc takes applications from Engineering students. Though they are sending 100 students only. The "talk" will be broadcast via video in DC and SLC. Possibly webcast. Ether way, I can't make it there, since I'll be out of town that morning. (October 13th) |

Neo wrote: What business does Mr. Gates have at waterloo anyways? Possibly to attend to the large cult following of students that seem to gather at UWaterloo. Lousy Windows fanboys everywhere... But, UWaterloo is part of the MSDN-AA (Microsoft Developer Network - Academic Alliance) and MS hires a lot of co-op students from Waterloo Suffice to say, the University of Waterloo and Microsoft have very strong ties. From EngSoc website: Quote: That's right, the man behind the Microsoft Corporation is coming to the University of Waterloo as part of his 6 University visit, with UW beind his ONLY CANADIAN stop. Chances are he'll be demonstrating some of Microsoft's upcoming technology, namely the Xbox 360. |

Unless they let everyone who requested a ticket too go... then I dont feel so special anymore.. Not me. But then, my reason to let me go was because I use Linux (and I thought it would be a waste of time to just let all these people who already like Microsoft go). I guess they disagreed. Or they know I have a test at that time. Either way, be sure to give 'em hell during the Q&A. |
