"Hikaru" is from Hikaru no Go. The "79" is completely random and has nothing to do with my year of birth (88) |

Althougth my name seems kind of self promting and full of my self i acuacatly did not come up with it and it was just my nick name online that peoleop refured to me as at the time i made this site. The eveltion of my nick was somthing like this: Daniel Dan Computer Dan Crazy Computer Dan (AKA Crazy Computer Guy, Crazy Computer Dude) Crazy Hacking Dude (AKA Crazy Hacking Guy) Hacker Dude (AKA Hacker Guy, Hacker X) Hacker Dan Most of thos where from poleop on IRC, tho no one on this site incuding tony knew me b4 the last one. I like to think of the Hacker part not as in what the media deftion of a hacker is but in the terdiantion one of some one who makes programs for fun and not profite or some one who test the limits of comuter systems. |

OMG! I just deleted a post by Dan! I feel special now In case you were wondering, it was a double post of the same message, made 13 minutes later.... My handle comes from Greek mythology. The legendary island of gold in the Aegean see, Delos, birthplace of Artemis and Apollo (twin son and daughter of Zeus, by a mortal I believe). He was scared that Hera (his wife) would kill them (as he usually was) so he found and island to have them birthed on. Sadly, this island was floating away, so he got his "son"* Hesphaestus to chain it to the bottom of the sea. *Hesphaestus wasn't really Zeus' son, since he didn't have a father. Hera impregnated herself by shear willpower...and was mortified that the result was not a perfect figure so she tossed him from Mt. Olympus, a fall that crippled him. Her loss, since he took up shop in volcanoes (hence his Roman name) and became an awsome blacksmith. So good in fact, that he was invited back to Mt. Olympus where he made an über-cool chair for his mother, but when she sat in it, it contorted and almost killed her. That taught her, fo' shizzle! [sigh] Fond memories of my days in Classics class...our teacher was so bloody hot! Ah, that was a long time ago. @Tony, you mean you're name isn't tony, but Tony!!?!? |

El Comandante wrote: anther example woudll be..cervantes--because of Miguel de Cervates..who wrote Don quixote..etc..*just assuming* Well, it was more to do with the pirate from Soul Calibur. (Hence the Pirate Mod rank.) But whatever floats your boat! Cool story, Delos. It's neat how you chose your name as an island rather than a god. You really hate being a god, don't you? (What with the hating of the newbie god rank and all) |

Well, my other choice would have been Argeïphontes, which would have been a god's name, but I decided against that since it's pretty damn long, and I can't have a long username and password. |

My nickname comes from grade 8. My friends and I were doing a video tape of a boxing fight on a trampoline, and my friend had 4 gloves (2 pair), where 1 pair belonged to his brother johnathin. Well, i picked up a pair, and he asked whose I had, and the way the name was written on the inside of the glove (sweat made it blurry), it looked like "Jamonathin". And then that's what my friend kept calling me. |

My name is a reference to Boo, the great flying hamster. Ever since his début in Megatokyo he has been attemting to do an impossible job. However, every once in a while he saves the day or shows his skills. Basically, Boo is the best hamster to have around when danger threatens or when you just need to be cheered up. In fact the only downside to Boo is that for some strange reason he insists on using a mac. But his philosophic nature makes up for this. And how can you not love a hamster who's response to everything is "squeek"? |

A sexy laptop for a sexy hamster. Besides, following your logic, macs are also a downside of Fred, and that is simply not so |

Delos wrote: Big boxes (as in the type you buy on the shelves) or the small ones (as in the ones that come in those packs with an assortment of other cereals as well)? Big boxes; like 950g boxes. And dry too after the fist box (ran out of milk), and without sugar after the second (ran out of that too). And I didn't get sick either, although I really didn't eat much for the rest of the day.
My other nickname is God; never EVER tell a lot of young kids that your name is God unless you can live with being called God forever more... little kids are evil (but being called God is hilarious ) |

Don't be ridiculus, it's Nikolaos. But hey, at least it wasn't "Nik" as some seem to think it should be spelled. Now stop yelling at me, please. AsianSensation: I'm not big on the rhymz0r, but I think you're mistaken. "AsianSensasion" (though, perhaps "Sensazion" would be better) sounds more appropriate. Either that or "AshianSensation" (because it doesn't seem like many people would pronounce "Atian" with the proper sound). |

person, person, person... You must understand, there is this thing known to many as sarcasm, others as bitter contempt. Anyway, Paul was pointing out the gramatical error of the thread name, we're all quite aware of what 'nick' stands for, despite Coutsos' attempts to prove otherwise. |

Actually, "Nick" sort of is my nickname. My real name is Nikolaos (meaning "Victory of the People," for those possessing a familiarity with the Greek language going only as far as drawing the first letter of the alphabet as a poor tiny fish) and that's how I refer to myself, but I allow others to say "Nick" since they'd have tremendous difficulty otherwise. It always seems to end up as "Nicholas" to them, or for the poor bastard that actually try to pronounce it (without taking into consideration that the name has little to do with English sounds), it becomes "nikoolaus." Aside from Greeks, other people that have grown up in that area of Europe (or coming from a family with roots there, and speaking the language often) don't have much trouble. Damn, I'd even settle for "Niko!" Even if you've only seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding you should be familiar enough with that to pronounce it. |

Pickles are tasty. I'm also pretty addicted to Dill Pickle Chips. It's also pretty much just a random word I thought of, was probably eating pickles at the time. Similar to some of my other fantastic nicknames such as MinuteMaid, because there was a box of orange juice on my desk at the time. |

Because I'm obsessed with Greek Mythology and had used Bacchus because Dionysus is my favorite Greek God and quite misunderstood and chose the Roman name for him in a game for a reason I forgot and just stuck with it. I usually switch around between Bacchus and Dionysus for different things and if those are taken I move onto others. @Delos: You forgot about Hephaestus marrying Aphrodite with the help of his mother Hera for his forgiviness.
