Hooray for Blender!

Here's hoping he'll post a template or at least the .blend that's already UV unwrapped.

OK, I lied. He used a warez'd version of 3DS Max with the Lightwave3D plugin. Also warez'd. From Kazaa.

My stab in the dark would be some form of immaturity. You've seen games like Half Life in which 3D models are created and used to represent actual people, correct? There really isn't a makeRealPerson() command people can use. They have to model from scratch. Yes, even the legs.

OK, now everybody with me grow up on the count of 3.
1... 2... 3, grow up!

Great, now we're ready for the second grade.

dude.. you could code generic body parts and create a re-usable library (what a waste of time though).. then you could very easily create a makeRealPerson() function haha.. and have fun.

I'm sure it isn't a genetic thing, I haven't actually looked into it much since it was first made, but you might want to take a look at the makeHuman project for Blender. It's a script that gives you some sliders to define certain features of the body and then produces a mesh for you.

But back to Halo... the guy plans to post the model he used and a tutorial once he has time. With Blender's LCSM tool the model will be completely unwrapped for you. You'd just have to hope you've got a similar body size to him.

Oh, and 100+ hours to spend folding.
