http://www.thefreecountry.com/security/anonymous.shtml http://www.space.net.au/~thomas/quickbrowse.html http://www.seglda.com/thisisareallylongnameforaproxydontyouthink/ Alright... more then half the semester is over (i think..) and i still haven't figured it out. How one earth to get pass the school site restrictions?? Nothing works! even animesuki is blocked Some guys said there is a site that you can use to get pass it but I have no idea what it is... or any other method to get around it... anyone know? Thanks.. |

I almost got suspended for that, my friend. I strongly discourage trying to bypass the school board's proxy if you have a half-decent admin. They might not be so lenient at your school. |

ok this mite not work on ur school system, cuz it only works on mine sometimes. what i did was i'd log in, then unplug then lan cable, which allows me to log into a weird account wit access to c drive and control panel, then u plug the cable back in and dl firefox, install it then install that plugin that lets u use different proxies and try to browse the internet that way |

In my school, trying to get past the restrictions is encouraged if you do a white-hat... the sysadmin will give you food! |

Well the easy way whould be to run your web page request throw a page that uses a proxy, for example traslting it on balefish will probly make it load. Just pick a english web site and transalte it to english. |

**removed way into gmail.. i dont want NOOBs to use INTERNET explorer in Algoma District schoolboard!!!!! if you already know how.. USE FIREFOX to access GMAIL .. . . dont tell noobs that will use IE, as ADSB will block it if they find it in your internet explorer cache!!!! *they cant view firefoxs cache as easily.... too many ppl here from ADSB that are noobs.... (Lapsus Antepedis) dam you! lucky .... yea the unpluging the lan cable (gets into LOCAL user account, which often is not blocked like NETWORK users... . is the best to get around novel! i used that at a lan party to get around on a borowed PC so i could install CS 1.6... .. . glad otheres knew that too .. . |

Try mine: 65.165.84.11:80 , I use it all the time. Update: It took me an hour and a half to find this little gem. But it runs uber fast; incidentally, it's the one with the virus-scanning filter I was talking about in another thread Update2: It's anonymous too. |

Notoroge, you rock It's like, your second day here, and I'm already liking you! Thanks for the proxy, this sure beats the pants off of translating everything through babelfish like I did until now |

Dodge, it's not always worth the hassle of installing Firefox every time you use the computer. As would be the case in many school situations. |

Proxy options can me set on serveral difrent levels, the easyest whould be in the browers you are using. I blive in IE they are in the conection options but i have not used IE in some time. |

OMFG !! ok . . i guess i shoulda shared this a while ago.. .. the SchoolComputer Firefox Fix! works with thumbdrives and/or moving around computers at school! set up firefox (install it to your thumdrive or student drive NOT the c:\ drive)on one computer with all extensions you like set it up 100%... hunt around for your profile folder (go to mozilla help for more info if needeD).. copy it to easy place on your network student drive or thumbdrive *remember dos uses 8char filenames etc.. make a batch file with these lines:
** note: change folz2325 to your USER NAME! **under other os's it might be windows\profile\username.. . . also.. thats being static (for thumdriveS), and having your profile folder in the root folder of the thumdrive ...you can change that to: xcopy i:\profile\*.* C:\Docume~1\folz2325\Applic~1\Mozilla /E /I /H /K start i:\firefox\firefox.exe so every you switch computers at school (wihtout a thumbdrivE), you have your extensions etc saved.. ... you still get a DLL error on both methods.. but thats not a biggie.. it still works great .. and the /E /I /H /K is to get around a lot of the c:\ drive locks they block c drive for us :d.. but right click /new /shortcut /c:\ works to get in |

Isn't that a hassle to have to reach to the back of the computer to connect your key? That's assuming you have enough room in the back. EDIT: I guess you were talking about the laptops? |

I pulled it from the back of the PCs. Not a hassle. At least at my school, the boxes are on top of the desks, so it's easy to reach back. Takes two seconds. |

go to https://proxify.net and then type in the web adress that you want to go to and it will take you there |

Pfft... Now you join in the conversation. Oh well, thanks. It's nice to know that i have a back-up site if my main proxy ever goes down (which I'm hoping doesn't. ) Update: Er, "Interactive content" available only for paid users? Oh well, it was fun for the ten seconds it lasted. |

you can do either or for proxify. you just do www.proxify.net or the https: one. Another one is guardster.com, but that got blocked, but http://proxy.guardster.com isn't. And if at anytime it promps you for a pin number, just use trial. Edit: I guess they just blocked proxify.net, it just worked the other day though.... bastards... |

What would you be doing on a school computer that would require you to use a proxy in the first place? |

Many things that you shouldn't need a proxy for. Last year, our school computers (the entire school board, IIRC) had just about anything to do with "games" blocked. Unfortunately, this includes such places as: GameDev.net GameTutorials.com (maybe not such a bad thing considering how crappy it has become) etc. (you get the picture) |

im in Sault ste. marie ontario.. WHY IS ADDICTING GAMES STILL NOT BLOCKED? the teaches catch students on it DAILY.. and yet.?? teachers play it too so they dont want it blocked? .. anyways... yea.. . i liked at the start of the year... i would be prompted for the password/username for the servers protection .and if i entered sokething i forgot now it would let me in./ / because their servers did not know firefox .. . now they do . wish it would pop up again .. so i could hack the server and get a admins passthru ! |

Oh we can install w/e we want (not allowed but they don't really check every students accounts...) so I installed Firefox and a ton of other stuff in my home dir... so yeah the only anoying thing is that... when ever I restart the comp I use (or any other comp) it gets reset (all its settings) to a default setting.. basically everything goes back into like a 'restore' after reboot :S which sucks because that way i cannot insall servers and etc... Oh well. |

At my school, they barley block anything, the only computers that you arent aloud to check email, play games or browse certain sites on are the library computers, Your not supposed to play games on the other computers, but if your not playing a game when class starts or they don' t see you playing (which is hard cause any teacher can monitor any computer [except the computers in the engineering class] in the school) your not going to get in trouble. Some teachers don't mind. |
