hi, i've recently picked up java and did a bit of robocode for my school's science olympiad team.. i was wondering, if anyone else from the site also made a robot, if so, please post the jar file, i want to test mine.. ty for your help |

From what I've seen, the default bots are a bit of a joke (except for this annoying one that sits in the corner until your bot gets lost and times out). I wasn't participating in this ( ![]() ![]() |

haha yah but after a few more lines now ours has started creaming ures...i forgot to put the boundry on our bot so it kept trying to run out of the screen and move as far as possible. it actually beats girl once or twice now *this was by end of year last year. i no longer have the source to my bot, unles mr mac has it after i lost it in a storage wipe =( * |

Go to the CSC's office. We ran a contest last semester (and gave away a Nintendo Gamecube), it was a lot of fun. |

u can always use lego mindstorms taht programable trhough their software and other software is it not? besides mostly eveyrhting mades for you ![]() |

For Lego Mindstorm stuff, the built in programming language is relatively useless. Since its a visual programming language, programs quickly become unreadable and it is relatively limited. You would be much farther ahead to install a different language( there are quite a few on the internet though I would suggest NQC, although there is one based on java which is supposed to be pretty good too). |

yah...what andy said...robocode is robocode. u have to use java...i dont get how u can involve lego into this. u get this piece of software in which u use the comiler they give u to program the Ai for a virtual robot which fights others. u cant use lego |
