the names of the Hong Kong winners are posted online. However, none of the winners are past IOIers and apparently, the scores weren't as high in Hong Kong as they were in Canada. |

So we are substituting the verb form of "Bane" for Aoi's title. It's like saying "Aoi is the Bane of compsci.ca". Except, of course, it's all in the past tense.
