There once was one..........but he whent away..........

If there is some one who knows alot about flash i whould consider making them a mod but we ushely find peoleop like that throw who helps in that section and since no one is, it is a bit of a problem. Maybe the best idea whould be to close off that section intill better suport for it can be offered.

I'd like to nominate TheZsterBunny ... he's good at flash, frequents that forum (well, as much as ANYONE can be said to "frequent" that forum Razz) and he's reliable and trustworthy.

Plus, I know where he lives. So if he steps outta line... Wink

Which Z? Zster or Zylum?

Obviously the who was actually mentioned in this thread, ZB.

I still don't understand why Martin feels I should be nominated. Sure, it's a joke, but I still don't get it. My only flash experience is when I walked into McKenzie's room and his students were working on projects/assignments with it. And I was only there to work on non-flash related activities that also may have been non-anime related!

So can we see ZB's stuff?

The flash intro on Massey's site is his:

The links don't work since I made Mr. F. remove the easter egg.

Oh, I'm sorry Embarassed , I didn't even see his name because of the white lettering. I thought you were doing what a lot of people do, add a post without following the thread. Hmm, looks like I'm the one who did that.

i probably posted this stuff before but here's some of the stuff i did 2-3 years ago:

http://ca.geocities.com/zylum@rogers.com/flash/image_builder.html
a cool experiment using masks

http://ca.geocities.com/zylum@rogers.com/flash/3d_balls.swf
starting out with 3d

http://ca.geocities.com/zylum@rogers.com/flash/electricity.swf
this movie is made completely using action script. that means no movie clips or graphics of any sort, just code.

http://ca.geocities.com/zylum@rogers.com/flash/evade_game.html
a simple game

http://ca.geocities.com/zylum@rogers.com/flash/snake.html
another game

http://ca.geocities.com/zylum@rogers.com/flash/magnifying_glass.html
another experiment using multiple masks

http://ca.geocities.com/zylum@rogers.com/flash/iso_game.html
http://ca.geocities.com/zylum@rogers.com/flash/iso_world_editor.html
an isometric game and a world editor which automatically generates the code for the level you made.

Amazing! I nominate zylum Smile , some very cool flash creations. The 3d thing is cool, and the electricity thing... I'm not that good at flash (very crappy actually) but I can see that you are good - you clearly know what you're doing. We could really use a Flash mod for those who wish to learn it, or improve their abilities - and I believe zylum would be a good mod 8) .

Heh. its a bit late.

I vote zylum. His work is pretty good, but you'd be more useful if you brushed up on your actionscript a bit Wink

uh, yeah. about the link mackenzie posted; I'd like to apologize for that. Lemme explain the situation:

In the original there was a complaint as to the content. Notably references to a 'higher being' and some sort of crosshair. In retrospect, this was a pretty poor idea.

After the complaint, the webmaster decided to take matters into his own hands. He tried to import the old movie, change it, and save it over the original.

Hikaru, I've yet to finish a flash project. I'm serious. I still have drafts from almost 3 years ago. Heck, I still have incomplete drafts from when I was 9, and playing with flash.

Embarassed

you probably could..

the stuff i posted is over 2 years old. i can safely say i can do much better than that now. all i need is a little brushing up.

btw sorry for not posting stuff in the forum yet, i've been a bit buys lately. things should easy up a little in a couple of weeks though

aye,

that edit was meant to be a half-hearted parody of stereotypical politicians in eastern europe nations.

yeah, I was tired and half-reading sum of all fears.

Zylum's done some pretty cool work (the worms thing ^_^), and I've been meaning to duplicate it.

--addition--

now that you're the mod, I can expect to learn AScript, right? Wink

sure... i just finished my calc mid term.. next week is the end of the term and i should be free. The thing is i only know AS 1.0 so i dont know if i can help you with 2.0 although ive been reading up on it and it seems pretty similar.. there are only a few differences such as strict-typing, strict variable definition.. improved classes just to name a few...
