is it posible to import a picture with transparency..., and can i mirror it and keep the transparency?? |

by transparency, do you mean one of the colours is transparent or the whole image has a certain alpha value? ie 50% transparent |

Turing has the command Pic.SetTransparentColour The Pic.SetTransparentColor procedure sets the color in the picture that should be considered transparent when the picture is drawn using the picMerge or picUnderMerge modes. If no color is specified, then the default background color (colorbg, usually white) is used as the transparent color. |

nope... still doesnt work i used "put View.WhatColor(x,y)" Im inporting a picture of a car, and i want to remove the white background... i did Pic.SetTransparentColour (car,0) but i still get a border on the car.... |

Im going to get all my pics read then download a trial of some program and do all the transparency for them at once. That will be a lot simpler. Or just ask the Ville to use his chars (He offers open source for Notrium.. and I know him so  )
Does GIMP have transparency? I heard its good... |

omg, you think paint is good? paint is shit, you can't do anything on it, word is better at graphics than paint... my advice.. get photoshop.. it's the best there is out there, and it's free... |

gimp is open source - 100% free Transparency in turing is just selecting one color in the picture to act as trasparent... this is not REAL transparency like a gif or anything... So paint would be fine for this.. (i still use gimp) |

I beg to differ but this is the same way transparency is handled in C++. If you don't see it then I think it's transparent. |

eh? If you are looking for a good picture editing program, which isn't photoshop  then you should 'get' paint shop pro.
With trial programs, what I find usually works is uninstalling it, clearing the entries in your registry, and installing it again

Gimp is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It's open source, which translates to free (in multiple ways). Despite what some would like to believe, it is not like a free version of Photoshop. It has many great features, you can do many things with GIMP, but there's still quite a bit it doesn't have that Photoshop does. It comes down to this: If you're willing to pirate Photoshop, you're better off with GIMP. Most likely, a professional graphics artist would know the differences between the two programs, and would know if they needed Photoshop. And since they are professional, they'd know Photoshop is worth the price. If you need graphics for a highschool computer science project you're making, professional image editing is a bit overkill. GIMP should suit you just fine. And yes, it works on Windows. |
