Post subject:  Help For A Final Project?

Im generally a newbie when it comes to turing...im in a class in school that teaches us how to use this language to create programs, and i know basically the things it can do, but i need to make one big final project....something simple, yet effective, and not tooo easy, but not too hard...i wanna make something that is effective and efficient and foolproof but not extensively difficult. What would be some good options? (examples: simple games, basic applications, etc)

I'm afraid this post is in the wrong forum. Please ask a mod (nicely) to have it moved to Turing Help.

you didn't submit a complete program, so this does not belong in the Turing Submissions forum. You are asking a Turing related question, so it belongs in the Turing Help section.
In answer to your question, read me

Check there for some ideas. You could pick out some that are your level.

Well, the thread you guys are posting are just for GAME ideas... but final projects aren't (or at least, not where i'm from) limited just to games.

If you're looking for a challenge that's sure to impress, try this: A Turing web browser Smile It can be done! Use the net commands to download the HTML code and then write the parser that takes it and renders it on the screen. Hard, but good!

No, but I guess they're just more fun.

As for the web browser, you'd need to be able to use the Net commands to download pictures as well. And if one continuous line of HTML is somehow larger than 250 (approximately, I don't know the limit for sure) characters long, you're pretty screwed.

If you can find something cool/interesting/possible/challenging to make in turing that isn't a game, go for it. We're here to help. And mock, insult, and waste time. But mostly the helping. Razz
