Anyone want to play Tribes 2? Unfortunately, fileplanet took down the link to download it, BUT you can still get cd keys here: http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/tribes2_cgw/ 100% Legal. If you want to download it, go here and get tribes2_gsi.exe: http://mirror.datafast.net.au/games/tribes2/ It's part of a promotional thing, in anticipation of Tribes: Vengance. If anyone's interested in getting a game going, post here. |

I thought it was a folder for the original Tribes, that's why I didn't bother looking in it. Anyways, should I install "tribes2_update_full_25034.exe" once I've installed the game? |

Yea... I uninstalled it, cause it kept giving me a unhandled exception that I can't fix. |
Author: | JSBN [ Sun Sep 19, 2004 3:57 pm ] |
Post subject: | |
1) the unhandled exception means ur computer isn;t good enough, u dont have good video drivers (that was my problem) or uh.... there was some other reason, but i cant remember it. About my sig, i have had that for way too long for it t have been a rip. from pa. Also, as some of you were wondering, the total space that i need to house it all is..... (counts) is approx. 6GB (although i think i may have missed some) |

I'll do some archive hunting and find the original strip. It's the exact same thing as yours, facial expressions, POV, and everything. If you didn't rip it off from them, then the only other possibility is that they ripped it off from you. ![]() |

Ah, this game is pretty fun actually. I can get used to this. It's pretty UT2k4ish though. Shouldn't be hard to get a hang of. I've only played it for ~20 minutes. Bed time. ![]() |

More strategy oriented than UT2k4 I think. Very different games. Both are great in their own respects though, |

eMazer!!!! Just kidding. Somebody come up with a new (better) name for me. List (perhaps not complete) of games leading up to tribes: EarthSiege, Starsiege, Starsiege: Tribes, Tribes2. (Just so I'm not seen as contributing to a thread hijacking) |

So how does one get the CD-key? After I make a gamespy account, do I need to go to the site punch it in and get the key, or do I have to wait for them to send it? |

You just make an account, log in, click the link on the first page of this thread, fill out the info boxes, and you'll get your key right away. A copy of it will be sent to your email too. |

500+ MB damn thats huge and once installed isnt it the same size? why dont they use those super compression methods like those rippers do. Ive seen games 1.2 GB compressed into 200mb. |
Author: | Mazer [ Thu Sep 23, 2004 2:38 pm ] |
Post subject: | |
Game rips are copies of the game with most sounds, music, and cutscenes removed. Sometimes the higher resolution graphics are removed as well. |

I tried it, you can vs. bots. Good for training, but not really... since the AI doesn't really accurately portray a human opponent. But they're good for when you internet gets inexplicably cut off for a while and you deperately need your daily tribes fix? ![]() |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the whole purpose of that is to teach people how to play. It was the same with the original Tribes. |
