In this tutorial I will be showing you a very easy but also very useful technique, motion tweening. I will be explaining step by step how to make the animation you see below. Step 1 : Setting up the document Open a new flash document, open the properties panel if its not already opened (ctrl+F3). Then set the dimensions to 300 px by 100 px, fps at 10 and background colour to black. Step 2 : Drawing your shape Ok now to draw your shape, which in this case is gonna be an oval. Click on the oval tool (O). Then draw an oval on the left side of the black box. Step 3 : Changing your shape to Symbol Select your oval with the arrow tool (V) (the black arrow). Then draw a box around your oval with it. There should be little dots all over the oval. Now right click and goto convert to symbol (ctrl+F8 ). You can name the symbol whatever you want or just leave it as Symbol 1. Now click behavior movie clip and click ok. Step 4 : Creating the Motion tween Bring up your timeline if it isn't already up (ctrl+alt+T). Then click on frame 20, right click and goto insert keyframe(F6). Now while on frame 20 drag the oval to the right side of the screen. Goto your timeline and select frames 1 to 20, right click and click create motion tween. Now run your animation (ctrl+enter) for full screen or just enter to watch it as is. I hope this tutorial proved useful to all the new flash users out there. |
