Just an idea, I think it would be pretty cool if someone made one of these. I've been getting into MC lately, and everyone knows games are better multiplayer!  Only thing is I can't host a server, I don't own any servers or VPS's.

Post here with your opinions on a CompSci MC server! Nathan Maybe Sly14Cat could help, he knows how to make MC servers

If you guys want one sure. I can get a pretty good uptime with minimal lag if you're in Canada er, North America. So if enough people want a server, why not. |

Compsci.ca has maybe ten people that post regularly that have been here for a while. There's a lot of people that show up for a year, finish their CS classes, and never come back again. |

Insectoid, Dan, Tony, wtd, cervantes, gandalf, md, demonwasp, mirhagk, clayton, rdrake, AJ, Blade, Sniperdude, raknarg, TokenHerbz, zren, btiffin. These are the people that will still be on the forums this summer, along with maybe one or 2 new posters. Everybody else will be gone in a month or 2, so I don't know how useful a minecraft server will be. Also of those I mentioned, almost all played on the old server that is now dead, so I don't know how many would want to go back. |

I browse the forums constantly year round, I just don't post much. And I go through phases too raknarg, although my phases are rarely vanilla. I enjoy a nice custom map now and then or a game of UHC (No auto-regen multiplayer game mode), but I just kinda overplayed vanilla and it's no longer a challenge. I mean, even diamond collection got way too easy, I had a method to obtain > 72 diamonds per hour. Once you figure out the best ways to do things then what fun is it? |

You guys need to play Kerbal Space Program. It's way more fun than Minecraft, and far more satisfying to not suck at. |

I heard my friend talk about it, it seems really interesting. I just dont have 20$ to spend. From what i can tell though, it seems a worthwhile buy, and there's huge room for additions, they're consistently working on new features |

It was originally an Orc cheerleader from Blood Bowl, but someone (Sniperdude?) added the banana to it and I've used it ever since. |

For the record CompSci.ca did use to have a minecraft server at cs1.ca however it was to much work and required to many computing resources to keep running for the little it was used. Part of the problem was that it was a public server and we had to constantly deal with greefers. The other problem was the server needed constant maintenance due to memory leaks and other issues due to poor server side code in minecraft/bukkit and the plugins we where using at the time. |
