Really? You made a post for karma? Well in that case, I don't think that you can every beat ekookman, because he got us to give him negative karma to make it look cool ![]() You only have 2 negative karma...not really that big of a deal. Also, maybe you're getting the negative karma due to multiposting and bad grammar...but idk, it's the internet and I don't know people's reasons for this karma stuff. |

I think your negative karma has to do with the (lack of) content in most of your posts and the quality of those posts; and less to do with the way you (attempt to) express your ideas. Karma is a joke anyway; if you're helpful and (mostly) respectful of others you'll be recognized for it by the community. If you post a lot of inane things, provide no useful help (or worse, consistently provide bad advice and ignore people who correct you) then other cs.ca members will recognize that too and simply ignore you. A very small number of users will take the time to change your karma, at best it's an ephemeral representation of your true reputation on the site. |

7 warnings and im i.p banned or a normal ban, either way i can easily re-originate my i.p to someone elses proxy or connection. what stops me from making a new account? |

If they really wanted they could set up a system that bans your account any time you log-in from your ip. So if you forget to use a proxy just one time, you'd lose your fake second account as well. |

To clear some things up: Warnings are not the same thing as user votes to ban. Warnings may only be issued by a mod and it takes 10 warnings to be banned. On the other hand it takes 30 user ban votes to be banned. Bans resulting from "vote to ban" may be over turned if undeserved. However bans resulting from 10 warnings are unlikely to be overturned unless a mod was adbusing their power. Both of theses types of bans are only on the account and do not block the IP. However it is violation of the ToS to make multiple accounts (especially to avoid a ban) and the new account would be removed and more advanced methods of blocking the user would be used (which may totaly remove access to our servers and other fourms). These are both diffrent from "admin bans" or "red cards" which are noramly reversered for spam, bots, and malicious users. Such a ban would add your e-mail, ip and account name to a global black list shared by multiple fourm sites. |
